Digital Audio Denmark have announced that DADlink is coming to the DAD AX32, in addition to the AX64, Thundercore products and the Avid MTRX II.
As I commented in my article on Production Expert ‘Why DADlink Matters In High Channel Count Systems’ the advantage of DADlink is ultra-low latency between connected devices. under 1 sample.
DADlink introduces a cutting-edge audio and data format, creating a rapid connection pathway among DADlink-compatible devices like AX64, AX Center, Core 256, AX32, and others. The transfer capacity is impressive, allowing up to 128 bidirectional channels between devices with no latency, contingent on the samplerate.
It supports samplerates ranging from 44.1kHz to 384kHz. With an impressive dynamic range of 237 dB, it guarantees swift and dependable transfers with unparalleled audio quality.
Beyond being the speediest connection between DAD units, DADlink is also compatible with certain NTP Technology devices
It also means that those of us in the Pro Audio community who already own the first generation devices will be able to use them for IO expansion.
I am hoping this feature comes to the AVID MTRX I, although I haven’t seen anything to indicate either way so far.
