James Richmond is a British-Australian composer, producer and writer working across electronic music, guitar-based songwriting and audio technology. His work brings together traditional musicianship and modern production techniques, often combining structured composition with exploratory sound design.
This site gathers together my work as a composer, producer and writer, spanning recorded music, written material and the development of bespoke creative tools. It serves as both a portfolio and an archive, presenting finished releases alongside the systems and ideas that support them.
Alongside completed works, the site also reflects the process of making music itself. Through recordings, essays and software projects, it explores questions around authorship, creativity and the relationship between technology and artistic practice, with an emphasis on maintaining intention and creative agency within increasingly technical workflows.
