James Richmond is a musician, producer, engineer and composer with over thirty years of experience in the industry. He has a passion for audio technology and works from his Oxfordshire studio, Volt Per Octave. A self-proclaimed tech-nerd, he has a deep understanding of modern production workflows, Avid Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cycling ’74 Max and AoIP technologies such as Dante, alongside advanced audio synthesis, experimental composition techniques and multi-instrumental performance.
He releases original electronic music under the name Euclidean Circuits, primarily improvised using modular synthesisers, Arduino-based bespoke instruments and Max, and also works under the project The Deathbird. EventFieldAudio, is where he develops music applications and plugins focused on indeterminacy and probability-based workflows. James has written for a number of publications and websites including Australian Digital, Australian Guitar Magazine, Next Music and Production Expert.
