Browser-based tape decay instrument
Memory Decay
Memory Decay plays a loop over and over through a process that gradually misremembers it. Fragments go missing, timing slips, pitches drift flat and the tape closes up, and because every version is copied from the previous damaged version rather than from your original, the errors inherit and the music accumulates a history. Every generation is kept, so you can go back, hold one still, or fork a second decay from the same ancestor and hear the two come apart.
